1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us:

• Personal Information: Name and email address for account access or purchases; parent name, email address, phone number, and message details when you contact us.
• Child Information: Learner display name or nickname, birth year, assigned age band, and family membership supplied by a parent or guardian to create a learner profile. Enquiry forms may also ask for a child’s name and age.
• Learning records: Lesson steps, predictions, observations, parent notes, and completion dates are saved for the selected learner. Parents can optionally upload a JPG or PNG of an activity. Photos are stored in private Supabase storage and accessed through temporary links after account checks. Please avoid faces, names, location details, and other personal information in uploaded pictures. Recorded lesson narration is generated from fixed scripts using Sarvam, without learner names, notes, or photos, and played from our website. The optional device voice receives only the lesson instructions; its voice service is controlled by your browser.
• Payment Information: Payment details are processed securely through Razorpay. We do not store your complete payment card information on our servers.
• Communication Data: Records of your communications with us, including emails, WhatsApp messages, and form submissions.

Google sign-in and your family account

Google sign-in is for the parent or guardian managing the family account. When you choose it, Google shares your account identifier, name, email address, and profile picture with our authentication provider, Supabase. Supabase stores account and session information so we can identify you, keep you signed in, and restrict access to your family’s learner profiles.

We request basic profile and email information. We do not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts, or calendar, and we never receive your Google password. Google account information is used for account access, account identification, security, and related support, not advertising. We do not sell Google account information.

You can remove our connection in your Google Account connections. Removing the connection does not itself delete information already stored with us. To request deletion of your account and associated learner profiles, email hello@youngexplorers.in. We may ask you to verify account ownership before acting on a request.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Process and fulfill your orders for digital products and program enrollments
• Send order confirmations, receipts, and download links via email
• Communicate about program schedules, updates, and important announcements
• Authenticate parents, manage family membership, and provide age-appropriate learner spaces
• Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
• Send promotional communications (only with your consent)
• Improve our website, programs, and customer service
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with:

• Payment Processors: Razorpay for secure payment processing
• Authentication, database, and hosting providers: Supabase stores authentication, family, learner, and service records; our website host processes requests and operational logs to deliver and secure the website.
• Email Service Providers: Resend delivers transactional emails such as purchase confirmations and download links
• Website analytics: When the production analytics integration is enabled, Google Analytics processes the limited, non-identifying usage events described below
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information:

• HTTPS encryption for the public website and sign-in connections
• Secure payment processing through PCI-compliant payment gateways
• Regular security updates and monitoring
• Access controls to limit who can view personal data

5. Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to enhance your browsing experience:

• Essential Cookies: Authentication cookies keep your session active. Blocking them may prevent sign-in from working
• Analytics: When enabled, Google Analytics processes information about sanitized page paths, device/browser details, program selections, free-discovery starts and completions, sign-in or onboarding milestones, and successful enquiries to help us understand the parent journey and improve the service. We do not send learner or family IDs, names, email addresses, phone numbers, birth years, typed observations, uploaded content, authentication identifiers, or URL query strings to Google Analytics, and we do not set a Google Analytics user ID
• Abuse prevention: Enquiry forms use Google reCAPTCHA, which may process device, network, and interaction information to detect spam. Google’s privacy policy and terms apply to that service

You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings.

6. Children’s Privacy

The learning activities are designed for children aged 4–10, with a parent or guardian managing the account. Children do not need their own email address or Google account. Please use a nickname where possible and provide only the learner information requested. If you believe a child supplied information without an authorised adult’s involvement, contact us so we can investigate and address it. We do not:

• Ask children to sign in with their own Google accounts
• Use children’s information for marketing purposes
• Share children’s information with third parties except as necessary for program delivery

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal information we hold
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt-out of promotional communications
• Withdraw consent for data processing

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. For digital product purchases, we retain transaction records for accounting and legal compliance purposes. Account and learner records are retained while needed to provide your family account. After a deletion request, information no longer needed for service delivery, security, or legal obligations is deleted or anonymised; backup copies may remain until the provider’s normal backup cycle expires. Service providers may process information outside India.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
